Mustafa Sagun
Chief Investment Officer
Mustafa is chief investment officer for Principal Global Equities. He is responsible for overseeing equity research, portfolio management, investment risk management and ongoing strategic development across four distinct equity teams and capabilities: Global Large Cap, Global Small Cap, Global Emerging Markets and Global Systematic Solutions. Mustafa previously served as a global equity portfolio manager for nearly two decades, and over five years as a senior member of the firm’s asset allocation strategy group. He joined Principal in 2000 and has been in the financial services industry since 1991. Prior to joining Principal he was a senior corporate finance and risk management analyst for PNC Financial Services Group and an equity derivatives specialist for Salomon Brothers. Mustafa holds a Ph.D. in finance and an MA in international economics from the University of South Florida. He received a bachelor's degree in electronics and engineering from Bogazici University of Turkey. Mustafa has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
