Principal Real Estate Investors has been managing commercial real estate securities since 1998. Our experienced, stable investment team manages separate accounts, institutional commingled funds, and mutual funds that focus on the below strategies.

Each strategy invests in publicly listed securities that derive at least 50% of their assets, income, or revenues from one or more of the following:

  • Institutional commercial real estate ownership
  • Institutional real estate development
  • Real estate-related services, such as leasing, management, and brokerage
  • Mortgage origination, servicing, and investment

Consistent, risk-adjusted returns
Our team has a specialized knowledge of regional property markets. This knowledge is combined with the broader real estate insights of our private debt and private equity groups within Principal Real Estate Investors. We also draw from the global public securities knowledge of Principal Global Equities. All of this helps us capitalize on inefficiencies and aim to generate alpha for your portfolio. 

Our dedicated REITs capability was founded in-house by lead portfolio manager and chief investment officer, Kelly Rush. Kelly has led the team since 1997, and has been with Principal for 30 years.
